GERMANY III: NEUSCHWANSTEIN CASTLE

La visita al Castillo de Neuschwanstein era obligatoria estando en el sur de Alemania. El nombre es larguísimo y difícil de pronunciar, así que yo lo llamo el castillo de Disney, que por cierto, sabíais que Walt Disney se inspiró en este castillo para construir el de la Bella Durmiente en Disneyland?

If you are planning to visit southern Germany, you can't miss Neuschwanstein Castle. Its name is so long and difficult to say that I've decided to call it Disney Castle from now on. By the way, did you know that Walt Disney took inspiration from this castle to design Sleeping Beauty Castle?

El castillo está en una zona que no puede ser más bonita, rodeado de montañas y de lagos. Así que hay que subir la montaña para poder llegar hasta a él, pero es recomendable pasarse antes por el Puente de Marienbrücke para tomar la típica foto de tu preciosa cara con el castillo de fondo (que obviamente podréis ver más abajo, así de original soy oye!). Hay muchísimos turistas por lo que hay que tener un poco de paciencia para sacar la foto en condiciones.

Ya dentro del castillo nos pedimos una audio-guía que, ya que vais, es bastante recomendable porque se aprenden muchas cosas interesantes sobre la historia del castillo.

The castle is located in a really beautiful place, surrounded by mountains and lakes. So you have to hike some hills to reach it, but I'd recommend you to go first to Marienbrücke, a bridge where you can take good pictures of the castle, above you will see the typical one with the castle in the background (I'm so original!). There are many tourists, so you have to be patient to take a good picture.

Inside of the castle we made use of audio guide tours, I totally recommend it because you get to know many interesting things about the its history.

GERMANY PART II (FLYING VISIT TO AUSTRIA)

Our trip tok us later to Austria, specifically to Bregenz. It's a city located on the shores of Lake Constance, on the border between Switzerland and Germany. There we went hiking in a mountain called Pfänder. Can you see that little antenna on the top of the mountain??

Nuestro viaje nos llevó más tarde hacia Austria, concretamente hacia Bregenz, que está a orillas del Lago de Constanza, entre la frontera con Alemania y Suiza. Allí fuimos a hacer senderismo y subimos a una montaña llamada Pfänder. ¿Veis esa antenita en lo alto de la montaña?

Well...actually it's huge!! We were there!!! (Proudly I say). We made several stops because sometimes I was suffocating, but it was totally worht it. The views of the lake, the city and the Alps are amazing. The lake is so huge that you can't see the edge even from the top of the mountain. We went down in the cable car, we had earned it!

Bueno...en realidad es enorme! Hasta allí subimos!! (digo orgullosamente). Parando unas cuantas veces porque a veces casi no podía ni respirar, pero valió la pena totalmente. La vista del lago, la ciudad y los Alpes es maravillosa. El lago es tan grande que ni siquiera desde allí arriba podía ver el final. La vuelta fue en el teleférico, nos lo habíamos ganado! Mis piernas no podían soportar bajar la montaña y además me hacia mucha ilu ir en el teleférico.

You can't miss:
- Seebühne, it's a floating stage in Bregenz. Operas and concerts are performed on a stage over water on the shores of Lake Constance in summer. I'd love to watch one someday!

- Seebühne en Bregenz, es un escenario que se encuentra en el Lago de Constanza, literalmente EN él. Hay un festival de verano y se construyen escenarios donde se representan óperas y conciertos al aire libre. Me encantaría ir a ver alguna algún día!

GERMANY: PART I

Guten Tag!! I haven't posted in a while but I'm back! A couple of weeks ago I came back from Germany, so my the next posts will show you the beautiful places I've known during the days I spent there.

Guten tag!!Ha sido un largo tiempo sin publicar pero aquí estoy de vuelta! Hace un par de semanas volví de Alemania, así en los próximos posts os voy a enseñar los maravillosos lugares que he podido conocer en los días que pasé allí.

The first stop was Munich; one kind of tradition of the locals that has to do with the lion statues in Odeonplatz, was one of the things that surprised me the most at first. In the beginning I thought that my boyfriend-guide was kidding me but then I saw it! Almost every passer-by rubs the lion's nose with their hand because it's supposed to bring good luck. And I couldn't help taking a picture of me rubbing the lion too!

La primera parada fue Múnich; una de las cosas que más me impactaron de esta gran ciudad fue una costumbre relacionada con las estatuas de los leones en Odeonplatz, al principio pensé que mi novio-guía me estaba tomando el pelo, pero luego lo vi!! Casi todos los que pasan tocan la nariz de los leones porque se supone que da buena suerte. Y como donde fueres, haz lo que vieres...no pude evitar unirme a ellos e inmortalizarlo.

Munich was practically destroyed after the World War II, we saw some before and after reconstruction pictures and it was really impressive. It is quite admirable how this city got to recover from war and became what it is today. The Free Tour is highly recommendable to find out more about the history of the city. Sadly I didn't feel very well so we quitted in the middle (sorry English guide, maybe you will read this someday).

Tras la II GM Múnich quedó prácticamente destruida, vimos fotografías del antes y después de la reconstrucción de varios lugares y fue realmente impactante. Es admirable como esta ciudad supo recuperarse y ser lo que es hoy en día. Muy recomendable hacer el Free Tour para conocer todo este tipo de cosas y mucho más. Lamentablemente yo no me encontraba muy bien ese día y lo abandonamos en mitad (lo siento guía inglés, por si acaso algún día llegas a leer esto).

You can't miss:
- Hofbräuhaus, one of Munich's oldest breweries (tip: drink in moderation, the glasses are huge)
- English Garden: It's a huge park in the centre of the city. There is an artificial streaming flowing through the garden and it has a point where there are some waves and it's very common to see some surfers.

- Cervecería Hofbräuhaus (consejo: beber con moderación, los vasos son gigantes)
- El Jardín Inglés: Un parque enorme en medio de la ciudad. Lo atraviesa un canal artificial en el que en una zona se producen una especie de olas y algunos aprovechan para hacer surf.

Me he enamorado de las sudaderas de la nueva colección de Mango, es una prenda que me encanta por su versatilidad, dependiendo de con que se combine el look puede pasar de informal a informal. Buenas!!!Por fin os puedo mostrar este mono blanco que pedí hace tiempo en Sheinside, me enamoré desde que lo vi por la forma del escote. Lo combiné con estas sandalias negras y este bolso porque me apetecía algo minimalista. Espero que os guste! Besos y que tengáis un buen día!!!

Last Saturday I had a birthday party and I worn this Zara LWD from the sales, it's a basic that I didn't have in my closet. I found this colorful bag in a store of my town (after spending the whole afternoon looking for a nice bag in the shopping centre, can you believe it?), and borrowed these sandals from my mother. Hope you like it!!!

El sábado pasado tuve un cumpleaños y me puse este vestido blanco de crochet de Zara que compré en las rebajas, es un básico que no tenía en mi armario todavía. Este bolso tan colorido lo encontré en una tienda de mi pueblo (después de pasarme toda la tarde buscando un bolso bonito en el centro comercial, os lo podéis creer?), y las sandalias se las cogí prestadas a mi madre. Espero que os guste!!
